Unfortunately, Summer has come to an end. That crisp Autumn air is filling up your lungs each morning and the days are getting shorter and darker – winter is not far off. We had our moments this summer: there were likely moments of anger, joy, debauchery, and sadness. While we do love to have a good time cheering on the Jets or rocking out at Electric Zoo, we at TailBus do love to give back and support worthy causes. This Sunday, we have partnered with The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research to provide transportation to their annual Polo For Parkinson’s Event.
Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s disease in 1991 and he committed himself to the campaign for increased Parkinson’s research after openly acknowledging the disease. In 2000, after retiring from “Spin City,” Fox launched The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, which the New York Times has called “the most credible voice on Parkinson’s research in the world.” The Foundation is the largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson’s drug development in the world and has made leaps and bounds in the search for a cure. Read more about Michael and his foundation HERE.
Rather than waste another Sunday watching Netflix on the couch, join the TailBus team and the Team Fox Young Professionals of NYC as we enjoy the spectacle of live polo at Bethpage State Park. Tickets are $50 and include transportation, food, booze, and match admission with all proceeds going to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Start off September with the thrill of polo and the joy of knowing you are making a difference in the search for a cure for Parkinson’s.
